Your market, seen from your customers' phones

How much share each operator wins or loses every month, how present the competition is in your base, how much data your customers use and which internet they have at home. Measured on the device, not stated in a survey.

Use cases

Six leadership decisions that are better made with this data

What today is guessed from regulator figures, surveys or your own customer base is seen here every month, with the competition alongside.

Market share, every month

Who wins and who loses share, brand by brand and MVNOs included, every month. Without waiting for the regulator's figures, which arrive late and count sign-ups, not active lines.

Operator share

Porting and churn risk

What percentage of your base has each competitor's app installed, and how it grows month by month. An aggregate measure of competitive pressure, never a list of customers.

Operator affinity

Plan design

How much data each base uses on average and how its users spread across GB bands, against the competition.

Data use and distribution

Partnerships and bundles

Which apps set your customers apart from the competition's: who to bundle with, what to zero-rate and what to cross-sell.

Operator affinity

Fixed-mobile convergence

Which broadband your mobile customers have at home, and which mobile operator your broadband customers carry.

Fixed share and fixed-mobile overlap

Network and investment

Which apps drive traffic on the mobile network and which move to Wi-Fi, by operator, month by month.

Data by app and network

Market share

Know every month who is winning and losing share

Track the active-line share of every brand, network operators and MVNOs alike, month by month and with the competition alongside. See in time which operator is growing, and where, without waiting for official figures.

  • Monthly share for every brand: network operators and MVNOs.
  • Each competitor's trend against the previous month and year.
  • The same tracking for fixed broadband, by country.

Mobile line share

  • Mobile Operator 212.8%
  • Mobile Operator 39.4%
  • Mobile Operator 45.4%
  • Mobile Operator 1, off the scale: 64.9%

Porting

Measure how present the competition is in your base

How many of your users have another operator's app installed, and how that changes. An aggregate signal of dual SIM and competitive pressure, so you can act before it shows up in churn.

  • Which competitors are most present in each base.
  • How that presence grows month by month.
  • Which bases are most exposed to porting.

Affinity

Find the apps that set your customers apart

Affinity compares how many of an operator's customers use each app with the market as a whole. It points to who to partner with, what to bundle and what to offer each segment.

  • Who to bundle with or strike a zero-rating deal with.
  • What to cross-sell to each segment.
  • How your base compares with the competition's.

Data use

Design plans around each base's real data use

How much mobile data each operator's customers use on average, and how they spread across GB bands. The benchmark for sizing plans against the competition.

  • Average use by operator and network type.
  • How each base spreads across GB bands.
  • Monthly trend, by country.

Data by app and network

Know which apps load the mobile network and which go over Wi-Fi

How much data each app moves, split between mobile network and Wi-Fi. To plan capacity, negotiate with the big platforms and design per-app data offers.

  • Data by app, operator and network type.
  • Which traffic is offloaded to Wi-Fi and which loads your network.
  • Which apps are candidates for zero-rating or data bundles.

Cross your customers' fixed and mobile

Which fibre provider each mobile base has at home, and the other way round. It shows where partnerships exist, where to grow with converged offers and which homes are left without fibre.

  • Share of each fixed broadband provider.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the data come from?

From Mobilens' crowdsourced panel of mobile users in each country, with every user's consent. We measure on the device which operator and network it uses, which apps it has and how much data each one moves. Nothing is stated in a survey.

Is this my customers' data?

No. It is a sample of the market, not your customer base, and it never identifies anyone. If you want the same analysis on your own customers, that is MDP, done with their consent and inside your infrastructure.

Which countries?

We currently operate in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the United States and the Philippines. If you would like to know whether it can be done in your country, do get in touch.

How often is the information updated?

Every month, once the month has closed. We also aggregate it every quarter into a report on the state of the market.
